OUR MISSION

Overcoming Children is a nonprofit organization that was started in March 2016.

We desire to see these children go from hopeless to hopeful.  By teaching these children the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus, we believe this will be the foundation that they will continue to build on throughout their lives.

In addition to teaching these students about Jesus, they also receive a quality education.  They rank in the top percentages in all of Kenya.

VISION FOR THE FUTURE

Currently our schools only go through 8th grade.  In Kenya, in order to get into high school, your test scores must meet certain criteria.

Because of this as well as the cost, many students are not able to attend school beyond the 8th grade.

We would love to be able to provide a high school education to the students at Overcoming Faith Schools.

VISION FOR THE TEACHERS

Currently we have 3 administrative staff and 65 teachers.  My vision is to see the teachers receive pay so that they are able to take care of themselves and their families.  All of our teachers are volunteers and have not been paid for five years.  Also, all of our

teachers but one was an orphan as a child.  I think that since our teachers have come from

similar backgrounds as our students they can relate, and this is what keeps them here volunteering every day.

VISION FOR THE CHILDREN

Our vision is to welcome the children who have been orphaned or who come from acute poverty.  While they are students at Overcoming Faith Schools, we not only provide them with a good quality education but also emphasize the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  While they are in our care, we provide; food, clean water, clothing, school supplies and medications.

We desire to instill in our students a love for learning and a desire to continue on with their education.

"I believe that a child born and grown up in poverty should not have to die in it.  I dream of giving them a net, not a fish."  -Alice
